ITINERARY

FIRST DAY	Arrival to San Jose / Costa Rica

Our representative will be waiting for you at the Juan Santamaria International Airport upon your arrival to welcome you to Costa Rica and for your transfer to the hotel in San Jose. You will receive a copy of your itinerary and your vouchers. Please check the information so we can be sure that everything is alright with your flight schedule and itinerary.

Overnight stay at the Real Intercontinental Hotel.
No meals included.

SECOND DAY	Poas Volcano and La Paz Waterfall Gardens

Our transportation and tour guide will be picking you up at your hotel at the indicated time for the Poas Volcano National Park and La Paz Waterfall Gardens tour. You will start with an interesting drive up to the Central Range of mountains through coffee plantations and country side landscapes. Once at the National Park you will be able to walk to the look out point from where you have a great view of the huge active crater. Afterwards you can hike up to the Botos Lake and enjoy the dwarf cloud forest vegetation around this old crater.

Later on you will continue your trip to La Paz Waterfall Gardens where after a delicious lunch you can hike to the waterfalls, see the butterflies and hummingbirds and the frog and snake terrariums.

THIRD DAY	San Jose - Excursion to Tortuguero

A tour guide from Manatus Hotel will pick you up at the indicated time for your excursion to Tortuguero. The drive will take the main road to Limon crossing the Braulio Carrillo National Park and the continental divide until reaching the lowlands. You will stop for breakfast on the road and later on you will continue to the small port Caño Blanco after crossing banana plantations. At this place the group will continue by boat through the rivers and the Tortuguero National Park until getting to the town and to the lodge.

Lunch upon arrival and the afternoon will be free to enjoy the hotel facilities or your tour guide will take you the town and to the Caribbean Conservation Corporation Museum.

FOURTH DAY	Tortuguero National Park

The highlight of Tortuguero will be an early boat drive ( after breakfast ) through the narrow canals of the National Park to observe and enjoy the awakening of this rain forest sanctuary. You are likely to see monkeys, toucans, sloths, birds and many others.

Dinner at the lodge.
Overnight stay Manatus Hotel.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

FIFTH DAY	Arenal Volcano

Boat transfer after breakfast back to the dock and terrestrial transfer to Rio Danta Restaurant for lunch. Afterwards our transportation will be providing you a private transfer to the Arenal Volcano area.

Rest of the afternoon at your own leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities.

Breakfast and lunch included.

SIXTH DAY	Arenal Volcano National Park

At the indicated time our tour guide will pick you up for your tour to the Arenal Volcano National Park. You will hike on solidified lava with great views of the Arenal Lake and you will be very near to the slope of the most active volcano of Costa Rica!

The afternoon will be at your own leisure for optional activities or to enjoy the hot springs at your hotel.

SEVENTH DAY	Arenal – Manuel Antonio

Shuttle transfer after breakfast to Manuel Antonio.

Rest of the afternoon at your own leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities.

Overnight stay at the Parador hotel.
Breakfast included.

EIGHTH DAY	Manuel Antonio National Park

Tour to the Manuel Antonio National Park. At the indicated time our tour guide will be picking you up at your hotel. Once at the park you will start a very interesting natural history hike in order to observe the abundant flora and fauna at this protected rain forest. After the hike you can stay at the park on your own and enjoy the sun and the white sand beaches of this small paradise.

You can take the shuttle from the Parador hotel to get back at the scheduled time.

NINETH DAY	Manuel Antonio - San Jose

Morning at your own leisure to enjoy your holidays. In the afternoon ( around 1:30 p.m. ) you will have a private transfer to San Jose. Near the hotel you have a great variety of restaurants of different specialties.

Overnight stay at the Real Intercontinental hotel.
Breakfast included.

TENTH DAY	Departure Flight

A representative from Saint Germain Tours will be picking you up at the indicated time at your hotel for your transfer to the Juan Santamaria International Airport.

Important notice: If your flight leaves in the afternoon on your departure day, you might want to consider staying another night in Manuel Antonio instead San Jose and coming directly from Manuel Antonio to the airport on the morning shuttle bus transfer to San Jose.
