Take on one of the world’s most scenic white water rivers
then enjoy unparalleled natural surroundings and the utmost in comfort and service
at the award-winning Pacuare Lodge. Indulge in gourmet delicacies by flickering
candlelight, explore hidden jungle treasures or conquer a tumbling white water
river.
| FIRST
DAY |

6:00 -7:00 a.m.: Early morning pick-up in your hotel lobby
by a Costa Rica Nature Adventures representative. Transportation service ( approximately
2 ½ hours ) to our Pacuare River put-in including a typical Costa Rican
breakfast in route.
Exciting 1-1½ hour river rafting tour to the Pacuare Lodge (class II-III
rapids) where you will enjoy a two night stay at Costa Rica’s premier
eco-lodge.
Arrival at the Pacuare Lodge 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
After lunch participate in an optional canopy tour ( not included in package
price ) or waterfall hike, or simply relax in your private bungalow or suite.
Dine on gourmet delicacies by candlelight and then visit our upstairs lounge
for a cocktail or refreshment before retiring to a restful night’s sleep.

| SECOND
DAY |

You will wake up to bird song and the soothing sound of the
river nearby. Then head over to the main lodge for a delicious breakfast of
home-made bread, tropical fruits, yogurt, eggs, pancakes, cereal and juice and
coffee.
Between 9:00-10:00 a.m. you will depart by raft for an even more fun-filled
day of white water rating excitement (approximately 3 ½ hours over class
III-IV rapids), including a delicious picnic lunch along the river. At our river
take-out you will have a chance to change at our private facilities before being
transferred by private minibus back to your hotel. Arrival back in San Jose
between 5:30-6:30 p.m. ( Breakfast, deli-style lunch along the river )

Tips for tour guides, drivers and lodge staff
| WHAT
TO PACK: |

The following is a list of equipment which should be packed
separately for the Pacuare Adventure; this will be rafted to the Pacuare Lodge
inside dry bags which we provide. We will gladly store the rest of your luggage
in our main office during your tour; on the last day of your trip we will transfer
your luggage to our river take-out point.
For our tour’s timeliness, we kindly ask that you have your river equipment
packed separately from the rest of your luggage at the time of pick-up in your
hotel. *Bags over the size or weight allowance will incur in an additional fee
of $30 per bag.
Recommended River Clothing and Equipment List
Two / Three / Four Day Pacuare Adventure
1 pair of shorts to wear when rafting
1 T-shirt or light cotton long-sleeved shirt for rafting
1 pair of outdoor type shoes for hiking and for use on the lodge grounds
1 pair of tennis shoes or sandals suitable for rafting
1 light cap with wide brim or visor for sun
2 light shirts; cotton, long sleeved for lodge
2 pairs of light cotton hiking trousers; jeans okay, but not recommended, because
of weight and drying time
1 sweater or sweatshirt
1 windbreaker; unlined Anorak, shell type, which can be tied around your waist
3 sets of underwear
3 pairs of socks
1 spare pair of glasses, if you wear prescription lenses
Sunscreen or sun block
Insect repellent
Toiletry kit; no aerosols
Medications
* Please ad 1 or 2 change of clothes for each extra day at the lodge
Optional Accessories
Waterproof camera ( for rafting ) or regular camera (with waterproof
case, for hiking and lodge)
Plastic bags of various sizes ( heavy-duty ziplock for film, books and small

At River Take-out you will be able to shower and change into dry clothes at
our private facilities. Long pants,
a shirt and light jacket/sweatshirt are recommended for the ride back to San
Jose.
