See the beautiful scarlet macaws in their natural habitat! Thanks to its isolated location, the Osa Peninsula in the south-west is home to one of the world’s largest diversity of species. The highlight is Corcovado National Park, preserving a distinct rainforest where more than 100 types of tree prosper per hectare of land. Jaguars, tapirs, ocelots, ara parrots and many other species populate the peninsula. In the region around the coast, dolphins cavort and if lucky, visitors can observe humpback whales from August to December.
