Starting on June 01, 2007, the Spanish air company Iberia will offer seven direct flights between Madrid and San José. Iberia will transport more than 150.000 passengers since there will be more than 6100 seats from San José to Madrid. It will be the first time that an European air company will offer direct daily flights to Costa Rica. Furthermore, on June 2007, the Spanish airline Air Comet will start flying to Madrid four times a week without scales. Likewise, the air company First Choice already inaugurated its route London - Liberia and vice verse which operates weekly.
