Shawandha is the Lodge on the southern Caribbean coast whose intention is to
co-exist with respect for nature. It is located in Playa Chiquita after Puerto
Viejo and Punta Cocles.
It features spacious bungalows constructed in neo-primitive style with an artistic
mixture of wood and ceramics with palm roofs, each of the bungalows has its
own individual character and atmosphere. Enjoy viewing your natural surroundings
from the terrace either lazing in a sofa or hammock.From there you can see the
vibrant colors of the plants and trees, listen to the variety of birds or catch
sight of the monkeys from the corner of your eye.
Your hosts, Maho Diaz, a fashion and architectural designer and Nicolas Bufille,
an anthropoligical documentarist and restaurateur, both French wish to welcome
you to their lodge and assist you in enjoying your precious vacation in Costa
Rica. Begin with your favorite drink underneath the spectacular "Rancho" of
the restaurant. There you can follow with dinner prepared by our chef, enjoying
creative tropical flavours with the savoir-faire of the French tradition.
Your days? Relax on the beach, or drive to Manzanillo and take a boat to observe
the dolphins, or take a guided tour through the tropical forest reservations.
You may decide to take an excursion to Cahuita National Park to further obseve
this unique biodiversity or glide over the coral reefs in a glass bottom boat.
Your dreams of galloping on deserted white sand beaches can be fufilled. Snorkle
or scuba dive in paradise or surf the waves of the caribbean.
Other activities include river or sea kayaking or visiting butterfly farms,
iguana farms, botanical gardens, bird watching or visiting the local indian
reservations, or end your days with a relaxing massage in the privacy of your
bungalow.
Very rustic and exotic. The bungalows are simple but romantic, comfortable
and functional. Greal bathrooms and shower decoration. Excellent food. The hotel
only serves breaksfast and dinner. You have to walk 120 meters to get to the
beach. ( Playa Chiquita ) The hotel has no pool.
